Slow download 4-10mb, very slow upload <0.1mb

Hi,

It appears this is the modern way to contact Virgin for flagging up technical issues.

Slow download 4-10mb, very slow upload <0.1mb, started mid week. Before that never bothered checking speed, seemed to work just fine.

I have rebooted the and reset the modem, i am connected via cable to the modem.

Kind of hard to work from home if i cannot send email with attachment.. gone are the days you could leave it running overnight on dialup and it will eventually work. These days Outlook gives up if it cannot get it done quickly..

Only test left i can do is connect the modem to the coax cable outside the house before the splitter.. which has nothing else connected anyways.

Have you logged into your account to check if there is a problem in your area?

I can't see anything in the stats to suggest a problem with your device/cabling so it could be affecting multiple users.

Unplugging and re-plugging the coax cable on the splitter outside the house seems to have kick things back into shape.

Now getting the expected 90+mb download and 10mb upload.

The modem diagnostic seem pretty similar. Happy with the result. Will order a spare splitter just in case this one is corroding away.

There was NO known issue in my area btw. So probably really down to my coax connections.

The number of 'Post RS Errors' are a concern!

It may be worth arranging for an engineer visit regardless.

Good point. I notice the Post RS was 0 before i fiddled with the Coax so may have been incrementing while i was fiddling with the coax box or closing the box up. I have reset them and will monitor them.
