Slow SuperHub

I have been constantly having slow/lagging issues with our WiFi recently. I have 100mbps plan, but at best my average is between 20-30.  This is worse when all the family are streaming and using devices. I am also working from home now too which is putting more use on it.

I constantly re-boot the router, but this doesn't seem to help for long and I also face a lot of issues with it not connecting once it does re-boot, so I have to re-boot multiple times to get it back up.

I have tried re-setting channels through the router admin, but this caused more issues and I then could not get it back up and working at all. I then had to reset the router itself, which I've had to do a few times too.

A lot of the help and info seems to be around the new Hub 3 router, I don't know if it's a case of needing a new router, as I have the older superhub and had this one quite a while.

Any help appreciated.

Re: Slow SuperHub

I doubt very much if there is a problem with your Hub.

Have you tried connecting some of your devices by ethernet cable to take some of the 'work' away from the Wi-Fi ?

Re: Slow SuperHub

No idea about Hub 4, but, none of the others are any good at networking, specially multiple devices. Certainly not HTPC haha

last VM engineer I had out said it was crappy for that, put it in modem mode, and shell out more money on a router that works

Getting Very Sick Of This! A New high in customer non-service 😉

Re: Slow SuperHub

My SmartTV is connected by ethernet and the VM box too, but that's all that can connect to it really.

Tried the laptop in it and works ok, but given the location of it it can't be connected all the time.

It doesn't really help the situation though, speeds remains pretty low regardless.

Re: Slow SuperHub

Are there any VM techs here able to help, or run some tests etc?

Re: Slow SuperHub

Can you carry out a couple of speed tests at speedtest.net using a direct connection using a Cat 5E/6 cable between the Hub and a 1Gbs capable Pc/Mac/Chromebook and no other devices connected.

Ensure that the Network Interface Card (NIC) drivers are up to date.

Then post the links to the results on here.

Re: Slow SuperHub

The hubs wireless is not the best so getting a better wireless router with 1Gb and using the hub in modem mode could help.
