Slow Speed from Superhub4

Hi

I upgraded from the M350/Superhub3 pack to the 1Gig/Superhub4. Set up the Hub4 today in Router mode and the wired connection speed was 200mbps and wireless,180mbps. Then set up the Hub4 in Modem mode and connected it to a TP Link Archer C9, same as my previous Hub3 setup. Speeds were similar to the Router mode. The M350 pack was consistently delivering around 300mbps previously. All speeds measured on Speedtest.net with CAT 7 cable for the wired connection and Galaxy S20 for the wireless. Latest firmware installed in Hub4.

Called customer service who ran a few checks and advised service on VM's side was fine. I was asked to run a speed test on SamKnows (VM's preferred option for 1GB speeds). This test showed 1Gig to the Hub4 but only 180mbps from the Hub4 (wired and wireless. So, the speed issue appears to be from the HUB4 to the wired/wireless clients. Customer service was not able to assist any further and suggested that I could try a "booster" device when it was back in stock. However, I cannot see how this would assist.

My intention was to use the Hub4/1Gig pack with an Asus Zenwifi AX8 Wifi 6 router. However, I feel there will be zero benefit until the speed from the Hub4 is actually delivering the intended speed.

I note from the Forum that a number of other users are having speed related issues but I cannot readily find a solution that applies to me. These are stats at the time of writing from speedtest.samknows.com:

Latency

24.2 ms

Jitter

9.20 ms

Download

170 Mbps

Upload

34.7 Mbps

Any advice/assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Re: Slow Speed from Superhub4

What speeds do you get at >> Sam Knows Real Speed << with a direct connection using a Cat 5E or better ethernet cable between the Hub in Router Mode and a 1Gbs capable Pc/Mac/Chromebook and no other devices connected ?

Re: Slow Speed from Superhub4

Could you check the 'Configuration' tab in your router stats?

34.7 Mbps upload feels like you are still on M350.

Re: Slow Speed from Superhub0

SamKnows shows 1Gb in to Hub4 but only 170Mbps out on a wired connection with a CAT 7 cable. Upload speed ranges from 30 to 50Mbps.

What upload speed would you expect from a 1Gb wired connection?

A consistent 50 - 52Mbps.

Can you post the 'Downstream', 'Upstream', and 'Network Status' logs as text so we can have a look at the power levels, errors, etc.?
