SFTP upload speed

Dear Forum,

Due to the norm, I have to use SFTP to transfer data from/to my PC. My upload speed is too slow, and probably and getting the penalties of uploading too much data. Is there any way I can increase my upload speed?

Re: SFTP upload speed

Hi apcyberax,

Going through some of the posts, I think I made a mistake on what my upload speed is. I am getting confused between MB/s (as it is given by the sftp client) and the speed test given on Mbps. At the moment I am uploading at 1 MB/s and my plan quotes 10Mbps. 1MB/s -> 8Mbs isn't it? Which it is close to the max. speed.

Re: SFTP upload speed

Hello

Yes 1Mb/s is 8mb/s so you are getting close to your upload speed, when uploading it will not flood the upload to your connection as doing  so would limit the download as to get info downloaded you need a small amount of upload to send acknowledgement signals.
