Recently upgraded to 350, speed reverted back to what i had before?

I recently Upgraded to 350 from my old package. Speed was fine for a few weeks at 300+mbps download and 30+ upload. 1 day it randomly reverted back to the speeds of my old package and now I'm stuck at 10mbps download and 1.5mbps upload?

any ideas?

thanks

Re: Recently upgraded to 350, speed reverted back to what i had before?

How are you connecting Wi-Fi or ethernet cable ?

It can be difficult diagnosing problems without some basic information.

Have you checked the 'Check Service Status' at the top of the page ?

If nothing is showing try phoning 0800 561 0061, this will tell you of more local issues that may be affecting the area. Be aware that it isn't a manned line.

Go round all the accessible co-ax connections and ensure that they are finger tight.

If everything above is OK we need do some troubleshooting; to start with …

Can you set up a Broadband Quality Monitor (BQM) at thinkbroadband.com - this will give you an insight into what is happening with the signal at the other side of the Hub, it will take a few hours to get any kind of trend showing although you can post the link straight away.

Post a link to your BQM on here.

Instructions for posting BQM Link

Under your BQM graph are two links in red.

Click the lower link (Share Live Graph) then click generate.

Copy the text in the Direct Link box, beware, there may be more text than you can see.

On here click the Link icon (2 links chain to the left of the camera icon)

In the URL box paste the link you copied and then click OK - you can post the link straight away.

Then

Can you please

Type 192.168.0.1 (192.168.100.1 in Modem mode) into your browser URL bar and press enter.

When the page appears DO NOT LOG IN but click ‘Check Router Status’.

Copy and paste the contents of the Downstream, Upstream, Configuration and Network Log tabs onto here, if you get a yellow warning click the Post button again.

A Guru will be along soon to decipher the info.

Well your config file is correct at least!

Primary Downstream Service Flow

SFID132
Max Traffic Rate402500089
Max Traffic Burst42600
Min Traffic Rate0

Primary Upstream Service Flow

SFID131
Max Traffic Rate38500089
Max Traffic Burst42600
Min Traffic Rate0
Max Concatenated Burst42600
Scheduling TypeBestEffort

The stats, other than the network log, look ok. There are quite a lot of 'Pre RS' and 'Post RS' Errors, however I don't know how long your HUB has been on since the last reboot.

It could be an oversubscription in your area.

It would be worth setting up a BQM, as Mike already suggested, so we can see the quality of the line:

Re: Recently upgraded to 350, speed reverted back to what i had before?

You can post the link to the Live BQM straight away.

You have quite a few Post RS Errors, how long since you last rebooted the Hub ?

In fact it may be as well rebooting the Hub at the first opportunity, make a note of the time so that we can see the corresponding red line on the BQM.

Re: Recently upgraded to 350, speed reverted back to what i had before?

I rebooted my hub just before posting on the forum. I also tried resetting it back to its factory settings to see if that would help.

The errors at 6pm ish are most likely the same time I tried this.

BQM

I have not rebooted since creating the BQM but will notify any times I do from now on.

Re: Recently upgraded to 350, speed reverted back to what i had before?

Your Post RS Errors have gone up significantly if the reboot at 18:00 put them back to zero.

Your BQM isn't showing any reboots, in fact up to now [21:15] it is looking very good.
