Recently upgraded M350 only getting around 230mbps

Hello,

Haven't posted on the forum before, but hoping someone can assist me. Last week I upgraded from M200 to M350 broadband. I've had all the confirmation emails through saying the upgrade is complete, but I'm not seeing the increase in speed I was expecting. Prior to the upgrade I was getting almost bang on 200mbps consistently and I was very happy with the stability of the connection. Since upgrade however it's only moved marginally higher averaging around 230/240mbps. It's certainly nowhere near 350!

Since I've had VM broadband installed I've run the Hub 3.0 in modem mode and I use an Asus RT-AC68U. I've tested the connection both wired and wireless with very little difference. I have also done a factory reset on the hub box and tried it in both router and modem mode and this doesn't improve the speeds either.

I've posted the Network Status data below- note that I only did factory reset about an hour before posting this. Can someone offer some advice or potentially arrange an engineer visit if required? The call centre wait times were horrendous so this seemed like a better option.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Recently upgraded M350 only getting around 230mbps

What speed do you get at >> speedtest.net << with a direct connection using a Cat 5E/6 cable between the Hub in Router Mode and a 1Gbs capable Pc/Mac/Chromebook and no other devices connected ?

Re: Recently upgraded M350 only getting around 230mbps

Cheers for the quick reply Mike.

I have tested with both- WiFi sat right next to the hub/router and wired into my laptop. In both cases I was getting anywhere between 220 and 240 but no higher than that. Straight after I did the recent factory reset I left the hub in router mode and tested with Ethernet cable and it got 240 I believe.

Re: Recently upgraded M350 only getting around 230mbps

Can you set up a Broadband Quality Monitor (BQM) at thinkbroadband.com - this will give you an insight into what is happening with the signal at the other side of the Hub, it will take a few hours to get any kind of trend showing although you should post the link straight away.

Post a link to your BQM on here.

Instructions for posting BQM Link

Under your BQM graph are two links in red.

Click the lower link (Share Live Graph) then click generate.

Copy the text in the Direct Link box, beware, there may be more text than you can see.

On here click the Link icon (2 links chain to the left of the camera icon)

In the URL box paste the link you copied and in the ‘text to display’ box write My BQM then click OK - you can post the link straight away.

Re: Recently upgraded M350 only getting around 230mbps

Thanks for your continued assistance.

Below are the current configuration settings.

I've followed your instructions and the BQM link is here:

FYI- Hub is back in modem mode now and will remain this way during the test.Screenshot 2020-10-19 at 19.37.21.png

Re: Recently upgraded M350 only getting around 230mbps

It would appear that my BQM did not work! I'm guessing I didn't have the right IP or something...

Do you have any further guidance or should I be considering an engineer visit?

Re: Recently upgraded M350 only getting around 230mbps

Go into the Asus settings and check for ICMP.
