Poor speed on M100

Hi ,

i'm getting what i consider to be poor speed and intermittent connection issues on a wired connection .

its been like this for a bit , so have decided to post .

tested now its 42 down, upload is 4.7 mb , i ran it three times and this was the least bad of them .

ping isn't to bad at 49ms.

we are having problems with streaming services losing connection , which before i left you a few years ago for poor speeds due to over utilization is exactly what used to happen.

I have to say i'm very disappointed that currently nothing appears to have changed.

on my old Bt line i got near as 80mb download and a rock steady connection .

Why cant Virgin with what should be better equipment manage to do better ?

Thanks

Jim

Re: Poor speed on M100

Hi jimpotter2017 ,

I am a Virgin Media engineer and the stuff you posted looks good from an engineers point of view. Have you tried running a speed test from a different device, and if you haven't already run it besides your hub. Also make sure the all connections are tight. So that is connections at your hub, splitter and isolator. Feel free to PM me for anymore support. To PM me, just hover over my profile picture and click Send Message when the option comes up. Please don't post any personal info in this thread as it's public.
If I've helped in any way, please give me Kudos and mark my response as a helpful answer!

Fancy £50 off your bill? Ask me how and you might just get it!

Re: Poor speed on M100

HI,

u saying that 60 down on a wired connection from the hub , on a 100mb line is good ?

come on ...

on old copper lines , i got 82mb . solid , reliable .

on better fibre , 60mb, with dropouts at random times.

all connections are good in the house.

getting through to the call center is also impossible.

Re: Poor speed on M100

Hi ,

Not the speed, I meant the actual downstream levels and the rest of the stuff you sent. If you want you can PM me your account number and site ID and I can take a better look into it for you

Re: Poor speed on M100

Now resetting router again. Very frequent dropouts.

What a pile of sh I t service.

Wish I never changed.

Would call the call centre but you can't get through.

I'm a key worker and have work to do yet likely now need to drive a 120 mile round trip cause the bloody connection won't stay stable.

Virgin get a grip..
