Poor WiFi speed

I had just new virgin M100 Fibre Broadband set up in my house. The speed is good in the room where router is but drops by 70% in the living room next door. I’ve run internet speed checks and it’s super slow especially in the evenings. I called support but they tried to tell me this is how it works! Which is terrible, paying for brodband that is fast only up to 2 meters from the router. Does anyone else has this problem and can help?

The speed you pay for is only guaranteed for devices wired to the Hub. Wifi speeds are not guaranteed.  There is plenty of advice around this site for improving WiFi performance, but many people find it necessary to add additional WiFi equipment.
