because of the amount of people working from home the speedtest.net servers are becoming congested and giving out inaccurate data. have you tried changing the speedtest server to Manchester or Edinburgh virginmedia and running the test again?

Honestly it seems more like the Virgin Media servers are overloaded to me.

I get similar results with speedtest.net as well as from my M5.8xlarge instance in AWS which has 10Gbps network connectivity.
This is from a desktop - results are the same on my mobile which unsurprisingly vastly improve when I go over 4G rather than Virgin Media. It's been fine previously but today it's been beyond terrible - L23 area.
I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired 2 WiFi,) SH2 in modem mode with Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's. On VIVID200, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.
