Regardless of time of day or what else is connected to my "super" hub 2, i'm getting a quarter of the speed I'm paying for. The resolutions team told me to call Tech support while ignoring the information I gave. Thanks guys... I use a tp powerline to connect my pc to the router in the room below me. (Goes through the plug sockets and uses the wiring in the house.) I used this same set up at my previous home with Virgin and speeds were fine. Here, though, they're as stated, and the wifi is even worse. Any help or suggestions? Last week we lost all net for 5 days, I'm wondering if this is a by product of that incident?
Wifi on my phone is about 18mbps and that's not wiring. In fact it's worse tonight, about 8mbps. I also used to be in this house (moved back in to help look after elderly parent with alzheimers) and my speeds were never this bad.
Can you post your Hub status and logs? Someone should be spot if there is a problem Navigate to http://192.168.0.1 (or http://192.168.100.1 - if in modem mode) Don't log in! Click on 'router status' Copy/paste the data from each of the tabs. The forum software will remove the MAC addresses for you (you may need to click the 'post' button again).
Also, set up a 'Broadband Quality Monitor'. This will monitor the state of your connection and record any network dropouts etc - You can do this at ThinkBroadband (https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality) Give it a while to gather data and then click 'Share Live graph' and paste the 'Direct Link' into the forum!
Ah... I'm upstairs in a conversion so unlikely to be same circuit, I hadn't thought about that. Moving my pc into the room with the router would be very difficult and I was hoping to avoid it if at all possible. It's my elder father's bedroom, not a large room, and he has alzheimers.... it's not ideal. Was going to do a test with a friends laptop when he pops down to me. Any wifi test with my phone has been disappointingly slow.
The quality monitor doesn't seem to be working atm, I started it up the other night. Also it won't allow me to post any details from my hub, keeps telling me to correct the highlighted errors no matter how often I hit post, but nothing is highlighted.
