Only getting 20Mbps download when paying for 100Mbps

I am consistently getting 20Mbps download speed only, even in the middle of the day. I've checked the virgin slow internet page and it says it can't do a test due my router being in modem mode. The connection is *wired* not wireless.

https://www.virginmedia.com/help/broadband/slow-internet

I don't want to change this from modem mode as it takes a considerable amount of time and is buggy when resetting.

I'm receiving only 1/5th of the speed I'm paying for yet my monthly charge has gone up recently! Please fix this.

As above. Also what make and model of router are you using (not the hub).

Lastly please post your hub stats here and check for local faults on 0800 561 0061.

I'm not a Very Insightful Person (just a little bit, sometimes). I don't work for Virgin Media (but then nor do any of the offshore customer service agents).

Speeds of 20Mb/s downstream might suggest a WiFi connection on the 2.4Ghz band.

Speed test the service to a Router mode Hub(3/4/5) + your device with the link below.

https://www.samknows.com/realspeed/

Once the test begins click on: Run full test to see all the stats.

The speed at the Hub should reflect your subscription.

The speed any WiFi device draws data at is limited by its data needs and technical abilities.
