On 350mb but getting 80mb

Hi. I have been on this package for over a year and it's been fine and I was getting the full 350mb untill recently. I'm only getting around 80Mbp now.  Usually a reboot of the router helps get the speed back up but it's getting annoying now. I'm also using a third party router with this but I'm sure it's not that because I never had problems before.

Any help please. Thanks

Here are my stats

Re: On 350mb but getting 80mb

Your Downstream power levels are far too high.

Either phone in or wait on here for one of the VM Staff to pick up the thread, someone should be along within a couple of days.

Don't bump your thread; it doesn't get answered any quicker.

Re: On 350mb but getting 80mb

I have the same issue... My M350 is running slow (90MB) which is well below the 180MB "guaranteed". It's normally rock-solid. Upstream is fine.

You would be as well starting your own thread if you are looking for assistance.

Re: On 350mb but getting 80mb

Just been on the phone for over an hour. I have been told that I'm a heavy user and due to that my connection will get slow because there are alot of users in the line. I was also told there is no fault on my line and was told to reset my router to see if that fixes the problem. Absolutely ridiculous!

Like I said before the reboot sorted the  problem out, but only for a few day. It will go back to 80-90Mb in a few days.can someone help me sort this out please. Thanks

They are talking out of their backsides.

Your Downstream power levels are far too high. It looks like you are going to have to wait on here for one of the VM Staff to come along.

In the meantime have you checked the 'Check Service Status' at the top of the page?

If nothing is showing try phoning 0800 561 0061, this will tell you of more local issues that may not be affecting the area. Be aware that it isn't a manned line.

Go round all the accessible co-ax connections and ensure that they are finger tight.

Re: On 350mb but getting 80mb

My issue was the superhub port was negotiating to 100M rather than 1G with the router. It was solved by changing the cable between the superhub and router and using a different port on the superhub. Not sure if it was the cable or the port at fault, but if you haven't tried this yet, might be worth a go....

Re: On 350mb but getting 80mb

Did a reset of the router and the speeds are back to 350mb so I doubt it's the cables. Let's see what happens in the next few days.
