Not getting my 350Mb and only getting arounds 90Mb

Hi. I have virgin medias 350Mb internet but upon doing speed tests for the past couple of days I'm getting around 90Mb. There are no issues with my home network and I'm not using Wi-Fi. I am using Cat5e cables and no matter what cables I use I get the same speeds, also get the same speeds from 3 different PC's and 1 Laptop which are all wired in. I have also reset my router multiple times.

thats the speed i'd expect to see if something is limiting the speed of the connection to 100mbps.

Is that directly connected to the hub to though a powerline or switch?

Its running through a Netgear Gigabit switch

Its ok, found the problem. I have a gigabit branded switch upstairs but its actually 10/100.

hey many thanks for that tid bit about hardware limiting... You solved my issue as well 🙂

I hadn't even thought that would be the issue given all my stuff is CAT 6 and Gigabit hardware. While, yes i have been having speed issues (right down to 17mbit down and 1.2 up), a reset of the hub seemed to fix it - why i have to keep resetting the hub to get the 350 speed is another thing which i can talk to VM about.

Anyway i digress... looking at my router status page i noticed the WAN port had negotiated 100mbit instead of 1GB!! Now i'm not sure why as the cable connecting to my router is known good (i tested it before installing and is CAT 6)... another reboot of both devices though seems to have sorted it....

for now....
