Hi
I upgraded to the ultimate volt GIG1 package a few months ago. I have a superhub 4 running in modem mode. The wifi being through an ASUS AC1500 mesh. I have my desktop connected via ethernet. Running a speed check on the desktop through ethernet the max download speed has been ~ 550mbit. This is the same speed that I was getting before the upgrade. How do I know whether I have actually been upgraded to 1GiG?

Seems reasonable then.
I'd still check your Asus for any QOS settings.
Note that you are limited to 940Mbps when connecting your own router due to the 1Gbps Ethernet ports.

It's worth noting that some equipment isn't capable of receiving 1GB.

Access your Hub on 192.168.0.1, or in this case 192.168.100.1 in modem mode, select 'Check router status' under the login box, then check the 'Configuration' tab.
Should look like this:
Network access | true |
Maximum Number of CPEs | 1 |
Baseline Privacy | true |
DOCSIS Mode | 3.1 |
Config file | 87dsfd;kfoA,.iyewrkldJKDH |
SFID | 889 |
Max Traffic Rate | 1200000450 |
Max Traffic Burst | 42600 |
Min Traffic Rate | 0 |
SFID | 1420 |
Max Traffic Rate | 55000270 |
Max Traffic Burst | 42600 |
Min Traffic Rate | 0 |
Max Concatenated Burst | 16320 |
Scheduling Type | bestEffort |

It's the two numbers I highlighted that matter, so yes, you have been upgraded.
Ensure all QOS options are disabled on the ASUS.
What speed do you get here:

These are my figures, I notice the "Primary Downstream Service Flow - Max Traffic Rate" number is different to both the above.
Would my numbers also suggest I am on 1Gbps broadband?

Yes, you are configured for Gig1.
