Hello all.
I received my new VM Hub 5 yesterday and installed it as per instructions. I placed the router in modem mode as per usual, as I have been running my old Hub this way for several years now using my own router.
Checked my internet speed and things were great, no issues ~ 1gig speed.
Today I have run several tests, and it looks as though my speed has reverted to my old speed of 600 meg. Is there an issue with the current connection with VM, or perhaps I have been reverted somehow back to my previous contracted speed ?.
Any help would be appreciated if a member of staff could look into this, please.
Mark.

What is the 3rd party router you are using? Have you any QoS running?
Also check the WAN throughput on the Router, as it may be maxed out? For example, my old Router had a throughput of 300Mb, but my new one is 1800Mb.

Hi @dark-knight
What does the speed show, direct to the hub 5 and your PC using an ethernet cable?

If I take out my router and put the Hub 5 back into Router mode, I can get ~1gig. If I then reinstate modem mode and use my router, I can get ~600 meg. Swapping the Ethernet cable from one port to another on the back of the hub 5 and immediately do a speed test I get ~ 1 gig speed but this then is dropped back down to approx 600 meg on another test.
Cannot connect either way to the linked speed test via my router or the virgin media hub.

Running an ASUS RT-AC3200. Have turned QoS off and am now getting the speeds as indicated below.

No entirely sure where this is within the ASUS menu/interface.
Think this might be it.

Looking at the new speed test you are getting the full speed now that you've turned off QOS on your Asus RT-AC3200 👍

As for the WAN throughput, SNB suggests it’s about 925, so no problems there. It will easily max out the 1GB Ethernet WAN link.
