NEW CUSTOMER M200 only getting 70 at best NOT HAPPY

I have taken out this M200 thinking that the min I would get as advertised is 213 on my wired connection I am only getting 70 at best on an ethernet connection!!!!  I have had this 2 days. I changed from Sky but haven't cancelled yet so am very close to sending this back.

Yes I have checked all the connections. 

Yes I have wired it with the cables provided.

Yes I have reset the box, tried different servers

Yes my hub is in a happy place - better than I am

Yes Rang the number to be redirected back to this forum.  

I hope you are as quick to resolve this issue as you were to sign me up!

Yes I will be sending this back and cancelling my contract if this is not resolved within 48hrs

This is unlikely to be sorted in 48 hours, I'm afraid, but I have flagged it for forum staff to advise on further steps.  The forum isn't first line customer support so you may not get an answer for some hours, but you may want to defer your cancellation until you've heard from them, and considered how to go forward.

When VM works it's good, fast and stable.  But if things go wrong it can be a bit of a trial.

Log into the Hub Settings and navigate to the Connected Devices page.

What does it show the Connection speed as for the device that you are using to do the speed test ?

Thank you for your reply but this is the place Virgin have sent me to, to resolve the issue as when I phoned them I got an autobot which just said if not resolved go to this link.

Hi Zak it is, but I am teaching online until 4pm so cannot have my connection interrupted.  I have done all the tests available to me I have relocated my office to the hub so that I can connect via ethernet as the wifi even though on the app said connection in my other room was great was offering similar speeds when tested.

I teach online from 9-4 every day and it is essential I have good speed, hence deciding after many years to move from Sky, when I saw that the M200 was available in my area and I thought it would make my life a whole lot easier.  I hope you can help.  I do believe it will be amazing when it works.  Sonya

I would like to check the speeds in safe mode, so that I can advise the best way to do this, please can you let me know what system you are running (windows, mac etc.)

Thank you for confirming this for me: 

 

Please follow the following steps: 

 

  • Open the Start Menu, click Power, this will the give you 2 options, hold down the shift-key and click Restart.
  • Click the Troubleshoot option.
  • From the Troubleshooting Options screen select Advanced options.
  • Click Startup Settings
  • On the Startup Settings screen, click Restart
  • The computer will now restart. After the restart, you will see a new menu screen. To enter Safe Mode press the appropriate key, F4 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking

In order to exit out of safe mode you would need to reboot the computer. 

 

I would advise waiting till after you have finished teaching.
