Newbie here so be nice plz?

Got the 1gig package from vm and the speeds r all over the place . 1 test can show iPhone at 500mg then test again and its 80mg , that’s vpn off , vpn on (wire guard) its 45mg or slower .

Firestick 4k max on Wi-Fi only achieving 70mg no vpn and 40 with vpn, connected with Ethernet cable can get 84mg  and 45 with vpn.

is there sorting I need to change with the settings ???

It is no surprise that VPN make things slower ... you are seeing the throttled rate at the exit point.

VPNs use a lot of processing power so its not surprising. Also your on Wifi so your speed tests arent accurate, try wired.

AFAIK, the Amazon Firestick ethernet adapter is only 100Mb, as that's all it needs.  4K video needs around 25Mb I believe.

Hi WGas,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the community.

Sorry to hear you've been experiencing issues with speed, may I ask are wired devices affected?

Let us know,

I had the same issues. I now use VPN directly from the Asus XT8 router instead of software VPN and my speeds increased. If you use a decent router instead of the HUB it may have VPN settings you configure.
