i will wait here as i think i'll have more luck on this community forum than on the phone trying to achieve an engineer visit. Currently having 254Mbps down and 34Mbps up.

Take the attenuator out - DIY solutions on RF networks are usually a bad idea unless the user actually understands at a deep level what they're doing, how and why it would work.  Then re-post your downstream and upstream power levels.  If they're still poor I can flag this for the forum staff to advise, and if need be they can arrange a technician visit without having to risk the diabolically poor phone or chat "service".
