M350 very slow upload speed

Hi, as per title. Just seen another thread so will follow protocol. Can I book an engineer from here like old times?

Re: M350 very slow upload speed

BQM link (I guess needs time to populate…)

Thanks for any help!

Re: M350 very slow upload speed

I've had to enable network pings for the BQM graph to work! Another 24 hour wait I guess.

Looks like many others with the same issue in the area.

I've noticed on my wall-box outside, that my neighbours connection is on a splitter from my own. Is this standard practice or an engineer hack? What if everyone with this in place had an issue? (Uneducated guess I know…)

You have a stream missing as there should be 4 and the one highlighted in red should be 64 QAM, you have a lot of errors in your network log which isn't good either. Will have to let the BQM run for a while before we can get any info from that.

Have you tried a factory reset? Hold in the pinhole at the rear of the router for at least 50 seconds and then release (the lights will flash while holding in the pinhole reset button after about 15 seconds) then allow 5 minutes for the router to reboot and re-sync the connection.

If it doesn't improve after a reset you will need an engineer visit to put these right. Best to ring VM after 8am or alternatively you can wait here for a Virgin staff member to pick it up, typically between 5-10 days, sometime sooner, sometimes later depending on how busy they are.

Re: M350 very slow upload speed

Thanks, that's interesting. I can see there's been a remote reboot in the log, and now I have only two upstream, but speed is improved to about 9mb.

Will try another reset when everyone is out of school/ work. (I did do this a couple of weeks ago but half the street was out of service.)

Re: M350 very slow upload speed

From what I can see of your BQM that's not looking good either, could be possible over utilisation which is never a good sign 😞 Although this could just be down to a line fault.

Re: M350 very slow upload speed

Pulled a 6db attenuator off the line and did a quick reboot, seems much improved. I have no idea if the attenuator was at fault or if they have fixed centrally though…
