M350 slow download speed

Hiya - have been on an M350 package for about a year. Not many issues, but logged on this morning and download speed really slow (15Mbps). This is in a PC hardwired connection

Re-booted Hub3 twice and now getting between 50 and 80Mbs but it's really inconsistent. Upload seems stable at 35Mbps as expected.

No issues reported in my area, Hub3 diagnostics don't show an issue, and no recent changes to my hardware in the last few months. Grateful for a test and check to see what the issue might be. Will post HuB stat's below

Re: M350 slow download speed

Power levels are good, upstream looks OK, but your signal to noise ratio on channel 12 is too low, and that's also shown in the error counts.  Because of the way that a cable connection works, having one channel not performing can destroy performance.

Wait for the forum staff to pick this up, if it is a known area issue then they'll provide a fault reference and a fix date, if not they'll need to book you a technician visit.  If you're feeling both lucky and brave you can phone this in, personally I would avoid any contact with VM's dreadful offshore call centre.

Re: M350 slow download speed

Hi - Quick update on this.

Engineer visit last Friday - no fault found and it's been fine for a bit more than a week. Then today, same issue as before with Downstream speeds ranging from 40 to 100 Mbps. Pasting levels below, which look to be all over the place... 3 Hub re-boots have not made any improvement and Netflix / Amazon is currently unwatchable. Oh and pin is up around 17ms... as opposed to 7ms normally. Any help / suggestions gratefully received ...

Re: M350 slow download speed

Out of interest have you tried with a couple of alternative browsers? There are a number of recent threads on here whereby their browser of choice has suddenly started limiting speeds - Chrome is particularly guilty!
Worth a try.

Re: M350 slow download speed

Thanks for the thought but I get the same issue on my Newsgroup client (about 1/4 of normal speed) and streaming services are currently not able to render in 4K so clearly a network issue. Cheers

Or an upload issue at the other end.

Re: M350 slow download speed

Unlikely a far end upload issue,  as I'm getting the issue across multiple services... streaming, browser download, newsgroup client, etc
