Re: M200 wired speed 26.90-56.35

What speed do you get on https://speedtest.samknows.com/ with direct wired connection from PC/Laptop to router using a Cat 5e cable or better with a 1Gbps capable Ethernet network card?

  1. Make sure the cable is Cat 5e or better
  2. Make sure your PC/laptop has a 1Gbps or better network card
  3. Disconnect all other Ethernet cables when running the test

It’s the same cable I’ve always used a yellow one lol came from work so it’s quite old

I’ll try the site you said and disconnect all other cables

Also try a different Cat 5e or better cable if you have one 🙂

Re: M200 wired speed 26.90-56.35

all sensible advice so far, and you should definitely test with a different cable, but usually when it's a duff cable only negotiating at 100mb, the speeds you'd see on your device would hover at around 90mb, the fact that you're seeing speeds >100 indicate that the issue might be elsewhere.

it's worth posting the connection stats from your router - browse to your hub on  http://192.168.0.1 - don't log in, click Router Status - copy/paste the tables from the Upstream, Downstream and Network Log tabs back to this thread - you'll need multiple posts for this, the info wont all fit into a single one..

if it's a hub 2/2ac or 3 then no - just click "router status" on the first page that you see when browsing to the site.

if it's a hub4 then yes, you need to log in and browse to Advanced - router status is somewhere in there.

Your network card does not support the higher speeds or else it's the cable depending where you took this reading from, needs to be 10/100/1000 or similar. If its a desktop PC buy yourself a faster card or if it's a laptop go for a USB 3.0 to 1Gbps Ethernet adapter provided your laptop supports USB 3.0.
