M200 Slow Speed. 39mbs / 42mbs for the past 2 weeks (should be on 200Mbps)

Hello. so its been around 2 weeks maybe more as the last time i did a speed test was on the 14th of November and my speeds have been consistently around the 40MBS, and that's on my NEW PC and all the mobile devices in the house. I am 100% certain it is not my devices

I'm on M200 and normally hit around 200Mbs. I've done all the trouble shooting tips that typically tell us on the website from resetting the router to checking all the cables are connected correctly. They never get touched so i don't see why they would be an issue but i checked them anyway just to be sure. i am also using a Super Hub 2ac since it was launched to replace the first super hub i had.

I also did a service test/check online and this what it showed. i have uploaded an image.
service checkedservice checked

In case the image didn't upload above. this is what the following says:

(!) Network Issue
There's a network issue which maybe affecting your broadband service

What does this mean?
-This issue caused by interference on the cabling coming into your home.
-This will cause intermittent speeds and performance my vary

Re: M200 Slow Speed. 39mbs / 42mbs for the past 2 weeks (should be on 200Mbps)

I am getting the exact same problem. I am on the 200mbps package. For the past 3 weeks i have not been getting past 25 - 30mbps, with pings of around 18 -20ms.  As i have one of the new Hub4 boxes i can not do a quick self test on line as they havent come up with the ability to do that yet (!).

I am working from home which is making this really difficult. Needs to be sorted soon, if not NOW!

i get the same, but am on m500 package.  it is really shocking.  turned everything off except the PC checking it and can just scrape 50mbps download.  however upload is 36mbps which is best i have seen and consistent at that level all the time.

i start a wfh job Thursday and urgently need reliable broadband.

I'm glad i ain't the only one because this issue. as its highly irritating considering how many of us are now working from home. i get that the service might be put under strain but how much can we expect to keep believing that the service having issues is all down to the knock on effects of the pandemic.

if that is the case then the service was never good enough in the first place to handle. i find that hard to believe, especially if more than myself is experiencing lower speeds.

Have you checked the 'Check Service Status' at the top of the page ?

If nothing is showing try phoning 0800 561 0061, this will tell you of more local issues that may be affecting your district. Be aware that it isn't a manned line.

Go round all the accessible internal and external co-ax connections and ensure that they are finger tight.

Re: M200 Slow Speed. 39mbs / 42mbs for the past 2 weeks (should be on 200Mbps)

Can you set up a Broadband Quality Monitor (BQM) at thinkbroadband.com - this will give you an insight into what is happening with the signal at the other side of the Hub, it will take a few hours to get any kind of trend showing although you should post the link straight away.

Post a 'Live Link' to your BQM on here.

Instructions for posting BQM Link

Under your BQM graph are two links in red.

Click the lower link (Share Live Graph) then click generate.

Copy the text in the Direct Link box, beware, there may be more text than you can see.

On here click the Link icon (2 links chain to the left of the camera icon)

In the URL box paste the link you copied and in the ‘text to display’ box write My BQM then click OK - you can post the link straight away.

Re: M200 Slow Speed. 39mbs / 42mbs for the past 2 weeks (should be on 200Mbps)

Can you please

Type 192.168.0.1 (192.168.100.1 in Modem mode) into your browser URL bar and press enter.

Hub 2 & 3 When the page appears DO NOT LOG IN but click ‘Check Router Status’.

Hub 4 When the page appears LOG IN then Advanced Settings > Tools > Network Status.

Copy and paste the contents of the Downstream, Upstream, Configuration and Network Log tabs onto here, if you get a yellow / straw box warning click the Post button again. Use one post for each tab if you wish.

Please do not use screen grabs.

A Guru will be along soon to decipher the info.
