M200 Fibre Broadband - Consistent <100mbps speed

M200 Fibre Broadband based in SW London

Broadband has been tested both using the Hub in Router mode and in Modem mode. When in Modem mode the connection is via an Asus RT-AC68U router

At all times I am testing over Cat6 Ethernet, never Wi-Fi.

Average speed test from Ookla and other test providers are:

Download -  92 Mbps

Upload  - 19 Mbps

Ping - 9ms

Copy from Network Logs.

Can you set up the test machine using an ethernet cable direct to the Hub and with the Hub in Router Mode.

Then Login to the Hub Settings and navigate to the Connected Devices page - what is the reported 'connection speed’ for the ethernet cable connected device you used for the speed test ?

Interesting stuff. So straight into the Hub (both in Router Mode and via Asus Router with Hub in Modem Mode) is 1Gbps, whereas through the cabling in the wall it is 100 Mbps. 

Flow currently is Hub in Modem Mode -> Cat6 Cable (Confirmed 1Gbps) -> Asus Router -> Cat6 RJ45 Male connector to Female wall outlet -> Cat6 Cable to test device.

Am I missing a switch in here somewhere to keep the speeds at 1Gbps?

You said "cable through the wall".

Is that straight out of the Hub to the test device ?

This was really helpful stuff. Made me look again at the Cat6 setup and ended up redoing the wiring completely which fixed the 100Mbps problem and has boosted speeds up to where they should be.
