Low Speeds - 10-15mbps instead of 200mbps

For a few days now I've been getting terrible slow speeds at all different times of the day -  10-15mbps a lot of the time.

I typically use a wired ethernet connection for my main computer as the Virgin router (hub 3) has such abysmal wifi coverage in my very small house.  However today the speeds were so poor that I thought I'd best flag it on here. 

 

I reset the router this evening which seemed to help initially (speedtest.net showed 88mbps, so still not anywhere close to 200, but better than the <10mbps I was getting earlier in the day).  However the speed soon dropped back down again.

 

I've just run the test again and I'm clocking in at 9mbps.  I'm in the SG17 post code area.

BQM looks ok.

Can you copy and paste the info from your router network status.

Thanks for the reply!  Here's all the info from my router.

In typical sod's law fashion, it is operating at the full 200mbps right now for what must be the first time in well over a week... 🙄

Hub stats also look good.

It appears to all be within range.

I'm sure someone from virgin will be along to check if there are any faults in your area.

Either way, your end appears to be good.

I know it sounds daft but you may want to try a new ethernet cable and do a pinhole reset on the hub.

If nothing else it just eliminates those as being the problem.

Thanks for the feedback!  I'll give a pinhole reset a try, and I've got a spare cat6 cable which I can swap in to test with 🙂
