Intermittent and sporadic speeds

Dear insightful folks,

again I am suffering from slow down on my system having not made any changes to my internal system.

I was getting 1.9 gbps down and 52 up, now since Thursday I’m seeing 600 down and 52 up!

My system is currently in router mode to diagnose issues but usually running in modem mode connected to UniFi UDM SE.

Sam knows says 1145 at the hub (but this drops to 300 at times too) which tells me all cables are ok to the hub and cat 6a goes to UDM and is known working cable but to rule out I used another new one from different batch.

this morning I rebooted the hub again and ran a speed test and it was back up to 1.9gb and thought great, then an hour or so later it’s back down to 600 again.

… rebooting hub has not helped but again Sam knows and the virgin app seem to think all is ok.

I’m in that perennial dilemma that I’ve 100% not touched anything inside house and yet I’m now second guessing where issue is .. inside or outside!

any thoughts please? Just want a bit of stability for my money!

It's worth posting the HUB stats from the 'Check router status' section, and creating a BQM and posting the live link (It should omit your Public IP).

The BQM builds up from the time you start it, unless you mean it's all red?

It appears you have a capacity issue in your area as you don't have a DOCSIS 3.1 upstream channel (A fifth upstream channel), and you are not getting 104Mbps upload.

There are also issues reported in the logs, which also point to a local outage of some sort.

IKR .. and yet, everything says it's all fine on the virgin test systems. I raised another query re the upload too and hoping someone in forum will pick that up. It might get cleared by percussion in next day, but it happens too often imho.

Be great if this could get picked up by the virgin support team to investigate and advise 🙂

Also, the BQM just does not ever capture anything, I read before hub needs to have allow WAN ping enabled but can't locate that in the hub firmware anywhere so might be an old thread I was reading.

I'm quite curious as to what speed test gave these ( way over fast downstream ) results ?

If your Hub is in Router mode try :

thanks, mistyped as on phone and eyes not as good as once were! 1.09gbps or 1090mbps if more precise.

.. and yes, I’ve tried all the basic real speed tests as preliminary PD but thanks for suggestion.
