A thread that you've probably seen a million times before....
I 'upgraded' from 100Mbps to 200Mbps about 4 weeks ago. I have kept my eye on my broadband speeds and whilst I'll sometimes get speeds of 220Mbps, it often drops right down to 20Mbps. This interrupts me fairly regularly, e.g. Now TV will start to buffer and suffer a drop in picture quality, I'll notice slow downloads on my PS4 etc. Feel a bit short changed here!
There seems no pattern as to when this happens. I have experienced my top speeds at all times of day and similarly the slow periods have happened at peak times, but also first thing in the morning or late at night! I have tested on both Wi-Fi and through Ethernet and my speeds are consistent on both of these. Rebooting my hub does nothing. It just seems random as to when speeds will drop / improve again.
Edit: troubleshooting on the Virgin Connect app and check for faults in my area always comes up saying that everything is fine.
