Inconsistent/slow speed & very high latency

Hi there. For around 3-months now I have been experiencing very inconsistent speeds on my fibre connection (supposed to be 200 mbps). But most importantly, the latency on the line is awful and it really impacts video calls and my ability to work from home. This happens on wifi and wired connections. I have restarted my equipment multiple times.

Example from fast.com https://share.getcloudapp.com/12uNgoKp - especially bad this evening!

I'm posting here because I've had no luck phoning customer services, they simply don't answer when I try. I think an engineer visit is required, but again, I can't get through to book one.

Has anyone got any ideas about what to try?

Many thanks

Realised that screengrab link doesn't work. This should:

Re: Inconsistent/slow speed & very high latency

Stats look fine.

Was that a wired or wireless speedtest?

Re: Inconsistent/slow speed & very high latency

That was wireless. The wired test is better, I just got 92mbps, 19ms latency. Which again is poor given I'm on a 200mbps package. I've also tried before and wired varies wildly as well. The problem is the room I work in the only option I have is wireless as I can't run cable all the way upstairs. The VM box should be offering a satisfactory speed, not a constantly choppy one.

Re: Inconsistent/slow speed & very high latency

90odd Mbps on a wired connection could mean a CAT5 cable or a NIC that doesn’t support 10/100/1000.

Can you confirm?

Re: Inconsistent/slow speed & very high latency

Have you ever gotten more than 90odd on the laptop?
