Inconsistent Speed & Ping

Hi

I have bought M200 Fibre Boradband deal but I am experiencing inconsistent speed and ping from the start of my contract. I have tried contacting support numerous time but the only thing they seem to suggest is to restart my hub 3.

Hopefully the community might be able to help me more than customer support.

My live BQM is attached below which shows irregular ping spikes

And my router network log is attached below. It has been restarted an hour ago and previously it showed Post RS errors on 2 channels in thousands

The 1st issue your downstream power has dropped below the max -6. The range is -6 to +10 and you want in the middle so have room for minor fluctuation. Maybe a good idea to also post the upstream power level. You can check the area status if any local network issues..if not you will need to arrange an engineer home visit.

Your BQM indicates very congested area and if after fixing the power levels it does not improve there is no magic fix. But goverment has anounced school opening from 8th March so that may improve this a bit.

Do I need to ring Virgin and tell them to fix the power level on my line, as there is no issues in my area?

You need to call customer service and get that downstream power sorted...its below the acceptable range. Don't accept any crap on the phone about its normal and insist on an engineer apointment ASAP.
