I recently upgraded to 1 gig internet and I was sent a letter saying that I would get speeds of 1130 speeds.  I've yet to see that kind of speed on my speed test.  The maximum I've had is 940.  Is there a problem or have I just got high expectations? lol

940Mbps is the limit of 1Gbps Ethernet ports.

If you have the HUB 5 you need to use the 2.5Gbps Ethernet port with a device with a 2.5Gbps port to get full speed to one device.

Keep in mind the faster speeds are meant for sharing across multiple devices at the same time.

I use my hub 5 in modem mode so not sure if I can.  have an Asus xt9 attached to the hub 5.  they are connected via the 2.5g port though but my pc is connected to the XT9 via 1g out port.

Ah, so the WAN port is 2.5Gbps, however the LAN ports are 1Gbps, so you won't see more than 940Mbps on one device.

So if the wan port is 2.5g how are people supposed to get the benefits of 2.5g if they only put 1g on the out ports?  Seems a  little pointless.

YOUR Asus WAN port is 2.5Gbps, and YOUR Ethernet ports are 1Gbps.

The HUB 5 has one 2.5Gbps port that can be split to a 2.5Gbps switch, which is what I use, with the HUB in router mode.

It's your device being the limiting factor, not VM's.

I was more meaning that the Asus Router was pointless as it has 2.5g wan but only 1gb out.  That doesn't seem beneficial.  I quite like my setup though and works just fine.  Just always looking to squeeze more out of it that's all. Historically every time I've used VM hubs to do everything there always seems to be performance loss.  Modem mode seems better

As I said 1130Mbps can be shared across multple devices at the same time.

People with lots of devices (Or even just two!) will see a benefit.

Which websites (apart from speedtest sites) allow consistent downloads at 1Gbps or more?
