Huge speed drops (LE4)

Every now and then over the past week I have experienced huge network speed drops (never completely stops working). I believe I am on the VIVID200 service

I've attached a couple of different speed tests.

Here is some info from the Superhub, not sure if relevant or required

Re: Huge speed drops (LE4)

Ive started noticing this in the last day or so in GL4 (Gloucester). Up until a few days ago, our download speeds never dropped below 350mbps

However as you have noticed there appears to be a trend in speed discrepancies kicking off recently.  The speeds appear to ramp up again after a hub reboot, however soon tail off again.  Possibly connected to Virgins roll out of their top 500mbps product and faster upload speeds for everyone else.

Im thinking some config issues at Virgins side are afoot

Re: Huge speed drops (LE4)

Even after a hub reboot it's still the same sadly. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was related to their new speed boosts. Something always cocks up when they do this.

Re: Huge speed drops (LE4)

So far this is ongoing today for 5 hours now.

1.6 Mbps download for that time. This is not acceptable at all. This falls ways below VMs guaranteed minimum speeds of 107 Mbps I think it is for my package.

Last time this happened it went bed, went work, and when I got back it was working again. Lets see if the same happens.

If not I will be making a complaint because I am paying for this nonsense.

If it works, fine, but I will make a complaint the next time it happens unless someone takes action first.

You are in breach of contract with speeds like this and I will report to Ofcom as I am a huge hater of corporate companies treating the little man like crap.

Re: Huge speed drops (LE4)

I rang 150 to report the issue.

first the lady said it was my network cable. So whilst on the phone I replaced it with a brand new Cat 6 from Virgin, still the same issue of course.

Then they got me to start doing speed tests on my phone over wireless, completely pointless.

Then she said, she will send a signal and it will work in 15 minutes.

I called her out, how could she guarantee that. This was just a lie to get rid of me.

But I stupidly agreed and let her go. Obviously 30 minutes later and still the same speeds.

Her name was apparently Teja Swini and I will be making a complaint tomorrow. It is too late now and I need to go bed.

Re: Huge speed drops (LE4)

Some of your downsteam channels are a mess, a technician should be sent round to your place.

Re: Huge speed drops (LE4)

Well this time both downstream and upstream signal levels show o'k
What about the logs, anything showing in there?
[Could even be Virgin messing about external].
