Hub5 - Significant loss of speed to hub from VM

Schmill
Dialled in

So I have been having a "bad internet connection" for a few weeks, finally got fed up of running the VM Connect app and rebooting the router so started to poke around a bit more.
I have used both the VM "check my kit" test, and also the www.samknows.com/realspeed test and can see quite clearly that the issue is "VM to Hub", not my 'in house network'. I should be on 1Gb broadband, but am often seeing speeds of ~100Mbps to the Router.

I've been through all the hoops of "turn it off and on again" and "reset to factory defaults", and they all have the same effect, it fixes it! Back to >1000Gbps... for a few hours at best, and then back down again.

Had an engineer visit yesterday, did a noise check on the cable to the house, all seemed well, did a check inside the house, all seemed well, couldn't determine a cause, suggested it might be bad firmware or a faulty hub and swapped the hub out. Of course in the 30 minutes that he had been allocated for the job that was about time-up and of course everything was back to >1000Gbps again (as it would have been with a reboot of the old hub).... and then a few hours later it was back down again.

Its easily repeatable, but the engineer himself said he doesn't know what to do next as everything "looks ok"...

I've been gathering data from the router, but not really sure what to do with it, hence posting here.

I have a lot more data if needed, but as an illustration see the comments following (due to VM limit on characters per post).

When the engineer was here he said if it was a "cabinet issue" then it was not something he could resolve, but then also after doing his testing on the line he didn't seem to think it was a cabinet issue...

Where do we go from here?

There is very little difference in the powers between when it IS working and when it is NOT working:

The Network Log on the router contains a number of WARNING messages, but I assume that needs sorting on VMs side if it is an issue (the time stamps are also generally wrong by a few hours...) - MAC addresses removed "in case" - if anyone from VM needs them let me know...

Its hard to know whats going with speed to hub and to device sometimes, check your wired device is linked at 1Gb and not 100Mb

---------------------------------------------------------------

The SamKnows utility and the VM Connect app actually perform a "speed from VM to router" test as well as the "router to device" test. It is the "speed from VM to router" (shown on the left side of my screenshots) that is the issue here, so my ethernet cable (or wireless) won't be making any difference to that.

Yes speed to hub dips low but when it don't your speed stays under 100Mb so check your link speed
