Hub 4. Still not getting anywhere close to good speeds. Drops to 0mb.

https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality/share/528ade0cbd722d1ee4af92e1d8eeb105a3...

Still not getting anything persistent from my hub 4 1gb bb only package. Going from no internet to 30ish mb to 200ish mb before disconnecting again. Uploads go between 0.08mb to 49mb.

I was getting advice before on another thread but I am guessing they lost interest.

My job is at risk due to this inconsistancy.

Re: Hub 4. Still not getting anywhere close to good speeds. Drops to 0mb.

What speed do you get on https://samknows.com/realspeed/ with direct wired connection from PC/Laptop to router using a Cat 5e cable or better with a 1Gbps capable Ethernet network card?

Can you also please upload your router stats

Type 192.168.0.1 or (192.168.100.1 if you have your Hub in Modem mode) into your address bar at the top of your browser

For Hubs 2 & 3 - DO NOT LOG IN, just click “Check Router Status”

For Hub 4 - When the page appears LOG IN then click on:

Advanced Settings > Tools > Network Status.

Please copy and paste the contents of the Downstream, Upstream, Configuration and Network Log tabs, if you get a yellow warning just click the Post button again. You can use more than one post for each item if needed.

If you get a warning when you hit “Post” just hit “Post” again and it should work ok!

Please do not use screenshots

Your QAM on the 3.1 Downstream should be 4096, this would account for the slower speed. You could try a factory reset to see if it syncs at the correct speed. Hold in the pinhole at the rear of the router for at least 50 seconds and then release (the lights will flash while holding in the pinhole reset button after about 10-15 seconds) then allow 5 minutes for the router to reboot and re-sync the connection.

In failing to get the proper connection you would need an engineer to put right. Best to ring VM on or just after 8am or alternatively you can wait here for a Virgin staff member to pick it up, typically between 5-10 days, sometimes sooner, sometimes later depending on how busy they are.

Just out of interest are you testing wired or wireless? And what speed did you get on https://samknows.com/realspeed/

Re: Hub 4. Still not getting anywhere close to good speeds. Drops to 0mb.

Hi

I am on a wired connection for work, right next to the hub4 which gives the varied speeds I mentioned. I tried it in an upstairs room on wi-fi and bizarrely the speeds and the problem are the same. 0-200mb download and 0.08- 47mb upload, changing drastically up and down by the minute.

Re: Hub 4. Still not getting anywhere close to good speeds. Drops to 0mb.

As I am testing speed and reading this, the internet is slowing and cutting out so getting an accurate speed test is difficult.

Re: Hub 4. Still not getting anywhere close to good speeds. Drops to 0mb.

You're getting 1066mb into the hub so that's fine, are your using a Cat5e cable or better from the Hub 4 to the PC/laptop and is your PC laptop got a 1Gbps network card or better?
