How to check changes to the IP protocols

Hi there,

I have recently changed jobs and my my laptop is incredibly slow when I work from home. My IT team says it is because our VPN (Zscaler) has issues on IP v6; they would therefore like to know if any updates have been done to my broadband, and if so, if we can revert them to IP v4.

How can I figure any of the above - which - I must confess - sounds like a foreign language to me.

Kind regards,
Loik

Hi loiknarby,

You could ask your IT team to turn of your IPv6 in the Network settings of your laptop.

Hi @loiknarby

Are you based in Ireland by any chance?

VM UK don't use IPV6, however VM Ireland do. These forums are for VM UK.

If you are based in Ireland then you will need to contact their customer support and ask them to turn off the IPv6 on your hub because unfortunatley the forum staff here don't have access to the Irish systems. https://www.virginmedia.ie/contact/

Hi Dave,
No I am based in London. Do you know where I can get confirmation that they are using IPV4? My IT team is being incredibly unhelpful. Really appreciate your help!!
Kind regards,
Loik

Hi again Loik,

Hopefully a member for the Forum Team will pick this up and respond

You could point your IT team at the following thread about VM not using IPv6 which has been ongoing since 2010.
