Hey MikeRobbo,

 

The connection pretty much drops out when these spikes occur and any multiplayer game will freeze up for a few seconds and Skype calls will also drop.

 

I checked the graph right as my Skype call dropped and sure enough there is a big spike on the graph right at the time it happened.

I should also add my speeds are fine it's just these random ping spikes that are the problem.

You could try resetting your Hub to see if that helps but it more probably a line issue.

Have you checked the 'Check Service Status' at the top of the page ?

If nothing is showing try phoning 0800 561 0061, this will tell you of more local issues that may be affecting the area. Be aware that it isn't a manned line.

Go round all the accessible co-ax connections and ensure that they are finger tight.

You can contact VM to report your problem using ...

I'm guessing there was an issue in the area since the internet went down in the early hours of Tuesday and now the issue has gone away.
