Hig Latency on Modem Mode

Hi, I am getting the very slow speed over the Modem mode. The Laterncy increased when reaching to France. Please see the tracert. This is ok if i reach to the desitnaiton with Virgin Media business broadband or other home based UK boradband. If tracert online to this IP, it works like a charm. The problem start since this Feb 2020. I am on 200/20MPBS link(Home base).

The problem starts when ping reply increased to 300ms. Any suggestion.

Re: Hig Latency on Modem Mode

You're questions why tracing an IP in France is slow from the UK...?

Just to clarify....

Re: Hig Latency on Modem Mode

Hi.

No. My question is, the destination ip is belongs to Asia Pakistan. When I ping to destination ip the trace router gain high latency at France. Why is that? It was OK till January. Something changed in vm side.

Re: Hig Latency on Modem Mode

Ask the owner of the server in France then?

Re: Hig Latency on Modem Mode

You did no understand my question.

Look at trace results you would see 149 ip is having a high latency starting from 288ms. That ip belongs to France and its not a server. I suppose that would be router ip.. so I don't know why getting high latency to reaching Asia via this path over Virginia media.

Re: Hig Latency on Modem Mode

Yes I am sure. 192.168.0.254 is my gateway. I am behind double nated firewall. For simple you can ignore 192.168.116.x for now. The 1st hope is my gateway. 192.168.0.254

Re: Hig Latency on Modem Mode

Maybe part of the network in France is being DDoS.

Re: Hig Latency on Modem Mode

No i dont think so. Because with Bsusiness broad band and other UK ISP is showing following output.  In the below output the delay get reduced to 198ms. and home broadband i am getting 300ms approximately. Not sure how do i report this issue to VM because their staff dont understand the issue correctly.

Re: Hig Latency on Modem Mode

It’s just the way it routes.

Nothing you can do or change.
