Re: Hi, time outs since March.

Could you post the 'Downstream' and 'Upstream' tab data?

You may need to enter the data in multple posts and even press post twice due to an error that sometimes occurs!

Re: Hi, time outs since March.

When was the last time your HUB was rebooted?

There are a large number of Pre RS and Post RS Errors on all your downstream channels which explains why you are having issues with your line.

It sounds like VM already have some work scheduled to replace a cable, so until then there probably isn't much more you can do.

Re: Hi, time outs since March.

Yes I agree, I have to wait for the new outside cable, but I was thinking someone may find another issue from these read outs. I've rebooted the hub about 27 times since I've had the problems and has made no improvement. So I have not rebooted for a while (it makes no difference). Thank you again for your time trying to help me.

Re: Hi, time outs since March.

Ok, as I said the large number of errors indicates:

  • Issue with hardware (HUB).
  • Issue with line.

It appears VM has already diagnosed a cabling issue as I assume they wouldn't go to the trouble of replacing a cable for the sake of it.

Re: Hi, time outs since March.

The first thing VM did was to replace the Hub3, but problems still there. I just hope it is only the cable now Fingers crossed. I just wanted someone to read the hub log as I can't understand them myself.

Re: Hi, time outs since March.

It's no problem to review them, it just reenforces what VM think the problem is!

One other thing to keep an eye on is the Upstream power levels are quite high, which may require correctly also (5.1 or 51 as the HUB reports a decimal out) is considered the max acceptable level.

Re: Hi, time outs since March.

Thank you for pointing that out, I shall report it after the new cable has been fitted. You have given me a bit of piece of mind as I was worried there was other problems. Thank you very much for your time Carl. (I'm off to bed now, but will check for any other replies tomorrow)
