Help Getting Most From 1GB line

Hi, hoping someone can point on right direction here. have had my new upgrade 6 days now.

on both my pc's, cannot get any better speed than 500mb , but on my shield i can get 900mb, so line fine i think 😛  what could cause this? 

1st pc, 3 month old 3800 ryzan build, has 2x gb connections

2nd pc, 4 year old , this has 2 x gb  connections as well.

all wired connection. ran sams realtest, tbh there results where all over the pace when ran a few, but best download was around 540mb in 1 of the test, others as low as 200.

i see a few around here reporting same kinda prob, but i know 1 device is getting almost full speed.

any info, help, need to change anything ?  if not might as well cancel it, think im in my rights since only have had 6 days ?? cheers

What speeds do you get at SamKnows regular speed test ?

really poor on the download

In general All Speedtests have been less consistent for me since I upgraded to 500Mb/s from 350Mb/s a couple of months ago and now same on 1Gb/s

Others reported same issue going from 350 to 500, not sure why.

I would go by actual real file downloads if you know some sources that you hit full speed most of the time.

Same with myself, the Shield TV hit full speed on its first ever wired test.

Go into your Hub Configuration Tab and copy and paste the contents onto here.

The Hub is definitely configure for 1 Gbs.

You need to speak to VM.

You can contact VM to report your problem using ...

150 from Virgin landline.

0345 454 1111 from any other UK  phone.

The best time to call is 08:00 to get a UK agent, anything after 10:00 you must realise that you are quite likely to get through to an offshore agent that doesn't speak English as a first language.

Or you can wait on here for one of the VM Staff to pick up the thread but this may take a few days.

Hi Rab .

 

Thank you for reaching out to us in our community and welcome, I have had a look our end and I can see most of your upstream power levels are out of sync, can you please check all your internal and if possible external connection are hand tight, once done please unplug the router from the power leave 1 minute then plug back in.

thanks for the comeback, but tbh, its just getting  worse, when wrote this was getting 300mb + speed,   be lucky to get 100+ the last few days.

really fed up with this, £35, then £10 for change, + money added to monthly bill for nothing like what should be paying for, old 350mb line wiped this 1gb connection, at least you got what was told would get.

can this be sorted please, if not what my rights on canceling it and going back to 350mb?  aint worth  hassle tbh
