HUB4+1Gig Set up 15mins ago

Very 1st test run, not set anything up apart from my PC with CAT6 cable, it is going to be a right PIA/late night to redo all WIFI devices.

This is the Win10 App not Web version (at times reads Upload higher).

WED App (reads Upload correctly, Win 10 App reads high a lot of times).

You should also give www.samknows.com/realspeed a go if you're in router mode.

It does a two stage test - to the Hub and then separately to your device.

It's useful to working out where any performance issues lie in the future.

Re: HUB4+1Gig Set up 15mins ago

why do you need to re-do all the WIFI devices?
simply change the WIFI SSIDs on the hub to whatever your old one was called (and set the password to whatever it was). your devices will connect as if nothing happened.

t is going to be a right PIA/late night to redo all WIFI devices.

Why so?  Change the Hub 4 network name to the same as your Hub 3, likewise the password, and everything should reconnect without any hassle.

Re: HUB4+1Gig Set up 15mins ago

The old SSID names and Password were the default, I did not give them friendly names.

I will do my phone right now as I need it and  Harmony HUB tonight so i can watch TV and Google Home devices and security cameras tomorrow.

Re: HUB4+1Gig Set up 15mins ago

doesn't matter if they were default or not, you can still change the SSIDs on the new hub to match whatever they were before.

Re: HUB4+1Gig Set up 15mins ago

I feel its safer to start fresh TBH (I assumed the MAC was different so would not work).

The LED is a PIA, I am going to use my blackout sticker kit on it (probably 50-75%) if it is too bright tonight.

Re: HUB4+1Gig Set up 15mins ago

makes no difference in terms of safety, it's just an SSID.
MAC address has nothing to do with it, completely safe to do and saves a lot of work re-configuring devices.

You can turn it down or off within the admin settings.

Re: HUB4+1Gig Set up 15mins ago

The HUB4 looks and feels like a cheaply made plastic toy and I just found out its a Wave 1 device so no 160mhz (20/40/80 same as HUB3),

My previous Intel WIFI 5 AC NIC was 160mhz, current one is WIFI6 AX 160mhz.

Do not see any Smart WIFI settings though I have issues with that on smart devices so end up disabling it or having to fix it all the time.

Now I cannot sign in a second time (it did not refresh page after 2nd lot of changes, it did the first changes I made) claims password is wrong, this was a bug on the HUB3 as well (multiple threads on topic)

It is asking me to choose my language again, I am not doing a pinhole reset each time so will try reboot.
