Gig1 upgrade slow speed

Just upgraded to Gig1, but only getting 400 to 500Mb. Looked in network status and says no Docsis 3.1 channels. Shouldn’t there be 3.1 channels to get Gig1? Tried to explain on the phone, but they were not very helpful.

Yes

Have you tried pinhole resetting the Hub to see if it kicks it into life.

Can you then post up all the stats

Unfortunately, after the pinhole reset there are still 0 docsis 3.1 channels.

Looks as if either upgrade hasnt been applied or your location isn't 1GB enabled yet. When I look online it says I can get 1GB - but if I actually try to get it (as a test) it wont let me buy it. If you did it through CS - who knows what they did !

To check whether the upgrade has actually been applied (it does sometimes not go through for various reasons), look in the Hub settings for the "Configuration data/file" page (or similar) and see what the numbers are in the Downstream and Upstream boxes reporting "Maximum Data Transfer Rate" (or summat similar) these numbers in bps will show if it been applied. If 1GB should begin.... 1xxxxxxxxx...

Ok its been applied but you have no Docsis 3.1 channel. I will flag for VM to come here and comment why that is.

The engineer came Friday, said he upped the signal level in the street, changed the wall box and cable from wall box to router. After the hub 4 connected up again samknows realspeed showed 775 speed to hub 4. Now it is showing 221 speed to hub 4. 
I mentioned to the engineer that the hub 4 is showing no docsis 3.1 channels, but he said that if it is showing 32 channels, then 8 of them are 3.1.

Connection speed is still poor.

I am reliably informed by a man who knows about DOCSIS3.1.... that this comment is total BS !

You need VM to get back to you with a reliable explanation as to what is going on - I will flag again
