Gig1 Speeds, only getting 570 avg

Hey

I upgraded to Gig1 a couple of months ago, I have a hub 5, at first everything seemed great. I was getting 970 on download and upload was 50 odd (Before the upgrade to 100, which I now get without issue)

For the last week or so I've been monitoring my speed and I am getting nowhere near the speed it reckons I should be getting in my profile, on average it's around 570

Just wondering if a staff member could check the downstream levels and see if that could be causing it.

Edit: Just to add to this, my VM router is in modem mode and connected to an Asus ZenWiFi router and I am using the built-in speed test on the Asus to test speeds as well as my wired computer.

Thanks

What does this site show?

https://samknows.com/realspeed/

I just put my Hub5 back into router mode to test that and I am getting 1140 so this would indicate an issue within my network I assume?

Yes, your local network or specific device.

If it's a WIndows device reboot in safe mode with networking and try the test again.

So I turned off QoS on my Asus router and I got a massive increase in speed, The QoS didn't have any limits on devices etc but as soon as I turned it off it went up by at least 300 via the Asus built-in speed test.

My speed also massively increased on my computers as well so it seems QoS was limiting things.

I'd personally leave QOS off.

I have no idea why it was even on but I will be leaving it off now

QOS should only be used in a rare case when there are specific networking problems.

Hi there ChrisMayhew,

Thanks for your post and welcome back to the community.

Many apologies for the issues faced with the speed however I'm glad the issue appears to be resolved now.

Do pop back up if you require any further assistance.

Regards,

Kain
