Gig1 Slow Speeds

Hi,

Recently upgraded to Gig1 just before Christmas. All seemed OK at first, but since the weekend we have had a massive drop in speed. I have looked through some of the previous messages and noted the power levels should be -6 to +10, so thinking the below is an issue?

The Downstream Power Levels are far too high.

This will need an engineer to put right.

You can either call in (08:00 is the best time) or wait on here for a few days (6 to 10 days average) until one of the VM Forum Staff comes along.

If you wait on here Do Not bump the thread it will put it further down the VM 'to do list'.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, don't have hours to spare on the phone, so guess I'll have to wait for the VM staff?

Still haven't heard anything back from Virgin two weeks after posting this, so can't imagine they will be in touch anytime soon. Currently getting speeds of around 20Mbs, mostly less on Gig1 package - so not particularly happy.

Could someone advise how I could get this sorted please?

You can contact VM to report your problem using ...

Text service on 07533051809 - about 24 hours for a reply.

150 from Virgin landline - as long as you can put up with the canned music.

0345 454 1111 from any other UK  phone - as long as you can put up with the canned music.

Or you can wait on here for one of the VM Staff to pick up the thread but this may take a few days.

Thanks for your help everyone, but Virgin please this is starting to get silly now.

Currently getting speeds of less than 1Mbps when we do actually get a connection. No response to text and unable to connect on on the phone, so unable to arrange any help.

Virgin please contact me - I am paying for 1Gig.
