Gig1 Install - Speed Issue

MartinEbner

Hi All,

I recently upgraded to Ultimate Volt and the Gig1 Fibre has thus far been underwhelming and is significantly lower than my M600 performance. I am using a wired connection and I am currently reporting these speeds:

Ping:  15ms
Download: 90.77Mbps
Upload:  52.45Mpbs

I include an overview of my network status:

1
Baseline Privacy
true
DOCSIS Mode
3.1

A few things to note:-

  • I have Cat7 Ethernet Cable which delivered my full speeds on M600.
  • I have a Hub4.
  • I have performed several hard resets with the pin and also instruction via the admin portal.
  • I have contacted Virgin Media by telephone and they continue to push 'config files' but none has resolved the issue.

Can someone from the Virgin Media Community provide some guidance, please?

Thanks in advance!

Do you have a broadband quality monitor link?

Hi Z92,

I have set one up this morning. A little miffed that I need to do this, less than a week into the new agreement(!) I will report my findings back though when the data begins to emerge.

Thanks.

Hi,

Can anyone help, please? Is a Virgin Media rep available on the forum?

You're still showing on 500mbit

Max Traffic Rate
55000270

Try rebooting the hub

Thanks for your reply. Is the downstream profile correct? I will reboot and report back.

Edit: No change following reboot with the exception of a new config has been pushed. Sadly, this has not has resulted in a 67mbps performance on the latest speed test - worse than before.

This is incorrect information, the above is your upstream config!

If you log into your HUB and access the 'Connected Devices' section what speed does your wired device show as connected at?

Hi MartinEbner,

Thanks for posting and welcome back to the community!

From checking our services it does seem that the outage has been lifted.

However the are some readings that still need to be addressed.

I've sent you a PM to discuss further.

Thanks,

Kain
