Getting a second access point installed

I have recently had to set up a home office in my spare bedroom as I’m sure many others have - I have found that my usual (wired) speeds in the lounge where my access point and router are of over 100 odd mbps has been whittled down to about 20mbps in the bedroom...

the bedroom is ground floor so installing another point should be simple right?

has any one had a second point installed after initial installation? Does a second access point slow the over all speed down at all? Or has anyone any better ideas about how to get myself a wired connection in this bedroom? It would probably need a good 30-50m of cable to install a second cat5 point in here.

Re: Getting a second access point installed

Virgin rent boosters at £3 a month for this scenario or you could go on amazon and buy some powerlines (make sure they are rated 1000+)
