Fiber M350 - Slower than expected download speed, however getting expected upload speed

As per the title, I recently set up the M350 broadband package in my home but the download speeds are consistently lower than expected, however the upload speeds have never dropped below the expected speed (35-37mbps). Typically I don't seem to exceed around ~200-220mbps download and I'm not sure why or how to fix this. I'm on a wired connection (ethernet passthrough adapters), cat6 cables, made sure that the ports on my passthrough adapters are gigabit.

Re: Fiber M350 - Slower than expected download speed, however getting expected upload speed

When was the last time the router was rebooted/powered on?

There are a lot of 'Post RS Errors' across all 24 channels, which generally means a bad line.

Are your 'ethernet passthrough adapters' USB? Are they connected to USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 sockets?

Around yesterday at 8pm. I don't believe they're USB.

When you said 'ethernet passthrough adapters', I thought you meant they wern't integrated into your devices!

Could you confirm what sites you are using for the speed tests?

Could you try https://speedof.me/ ?

Re: Fiber M350 - Slower than expected download speed, however getting expected upload speed

For the adapters, one of them plugs into a wall socket nearby the router which has an ethernet cable run from that to the router, and then another plugged into a wall socket beside my PC which has an ethernet cable running from that one to my PC. I think they're also called powerline adapters? Apologies!

I was using speedtest.net previously.

Here are the results from that site:

I see.

Powerline adapters may not give you your full internet package speed, even if they state a specific speed on the box! You can get interference through the powerline depending on the distance.

You need to try plugged directly into your hub.

Re: Fiber M350 - Slower than expected download speed, however getting expected upload speed

I'll try that later once I'm home from work, although one thing I forgot to mention which I'm not sure if it's important is that the wifi speeds seem to be normal and I receive the expected speeds for both download and upload when using wifi, it seems to be only the download speed when using the powerline adapters/wired that isn't as expected.

Re: Fiber M350 - Slower than expected download speed, however getting expected upload speed

Ironically the WiFi speed may be faster than powerline adapters depending on how close you are to the HUB, and if your device has a decent WiFi card built in!

Powerlines will always give you slower speeds.
And usually slower speeds than wifi as well.
