Fiber M350 - My upload is capped at 9mbps

Hi,

I've tried calling through to the call center but can't get through to anyone so I am trying this channel. As the title suggests - I am on the Fiber M350 package which stated that it would have a 30Mbps upload speed yet I can't seem to get anything above 9-10mbps on speed tests.

Can anyone help me get to the bottom of why i'm not receiving the full 30mbps upload speed advertised?

Re: Fiber M350 - My upload is capped at 9mbps

Unlike download, upload speeds don't have a minimum guaranteed speed

https://www.virginmedia.com/shop/broadband/speeds

Go back into your router status and under 'Configuration' check the 'Max Traffic Rate' value:

Primary Upstream Service Flow

SFID11931
Max Traffic Rate38500089
Max Traffic Burst42600
Min Traffic Rate0
Max Concatenated Burst42600
Scheduling TypeBestEffort

Re: Fiber M350 - My upload is capped at 9mbps

Sure - I have added this below:

Primary Upstream Service Flow

SFID1119
Max Traffic Rate38500089
Max Traffic Burst42600
Min Traffic Rate0
Max Concatenated Burst42600
Scheduling TypeBestEffort

I'm getting nowhere near the advertised speeds of the M350 broadband package:

Re: Fiber M350 - My upload is capped at 9mbps

certainly the right config for 36 or whatever it is on 350

try a different test site - not all are equal

its always worth a reset of the hub - does nothing in many cases but can cure problems

try a test in modem mode just to keep it simple and isolate the router side of the hub

Re: Fiber M350 - My upload is capped at 9mbps

I've tried 5 separate speed test sites (Okla, Google, Think BB etc) - all give the same reading of 9mbps upload. It caps out at that.

Reset the hub many many times, tried using the hub stand alone and in modem mode (which i'm using now) all with the same output. It feels as though it's been hard capped at that.

Re: Fiber M350 - My upload is capped at 9mbps

The 'CAP' is the 'Max Traffic Rate' which is set correctly.

There could be congestion in the area causing the slow upload speed.

Re: Fiber M350 - My upload is capped at 9mbps

Should not have 9Mb on a 35MB/s UL, I am surprised you can get the full 350MB/s DL with so little UL and that chart is a bit messy also.

If you mean the BQM, that @Anonymous 's chart, not the original poster here.  He's got his own thread going trying to get that mess sorted.

Re: Fiber M350 - My upload is capped at 9mbps

Just want to mention that same happened to me, Supposed to have 20 mbps upload, before last week the speed was fine, as of last week it's 2-3 mbps during the day and around 4-5 during the night, making streaming impossible.

My download speeds are fine , 180-200 mbps

I get the error page in spoiler when logged in and running the test off the website but when I check my postcode for problems it says there's none
