Dropping, patchy connection

Hello,

I have seen through the forum that there are a few people posting their BQM and router stats to get things sorted.

Overall I would say that whenever I test my speed things seem to come back with positive results but when it comes to the experience I would say that it is patchy.

Router stats:

Re: Dropping, patchy connection

Your downstream power levels are approaching the upper limit of +10, and should be lowered by an engineer.  Also you have a lot of noise on the line as shown by the PostRS errors, and again, an engineer will need to fix this.

Re: Dropping, patchy connection

I have been looking at the logs and been unable to understand them despite loving tech!

Do I need to raise a ticket with Virgin or will they pick it up from the forum? I have seen that there are responses from the Virgin team at times.

Thanks Adduxi, you have been very helpful.

Re: Dropping, patchy connection

If you are in a hurry, then phone this in at 08:00 for the shortest queues.  Or wait here for a VM Mod to pick it up, however it may take up to 5 days as they are quite busy.

Re: Dropping, patchy connection

Hi leventis,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forums. It's great having you on board with us in the Community.

Apologies to hear that you are having an issue with your connection. I have to agree with Adduxi here. Even though your levels are still within range, they are very nearly not so I would like to arrange for an engineer to come to take a look at this for you.

I just need to confirm the address to ensure we are booking the visit on the correct account.

I have sent you a private message regarding this. Just click on the little plum envelope at the top right hand side of the page to access your inbox.

Thanks,

Re: Dropping, patchy connection

Hi Adduxi,

Thanks so much for coming back to me via private message.

The engineer will need to come to the house as the checks and adjustments will be made inside the property 🙂

I have booked you in for the next available appointment. We cannot confirm the appointment time slot publicly, so to view this please sign in to My Virgin Media here: My VM

If the appointment is unsuitable or if anyone living at your property has tested positive for Coronavirus, has been asked to self-isolate or has flu-like symptoms then please reschedule the appointment on the same link.

Lets us know how the appointment goes.

Take care.
