Dropping Connection

Hi All

I've noticed at first instability on my wifi setup - where I keep having to restart repeaters.. I thought it was perhaps my wifi .. but now I suspect my router has actually been dropping connection with the distribution network. Mainly because while playing games last night I kept getting network connection errors ... so I checked out my logs and

1. error rates seem high

2.my downstream power levels seem low...

Can someone check my stats below and confirm if my suspicions are correct? Should I call out a technician?

Re: Dropping Connection

Hi

Those settings on your hub downstream and upstream look perfect. Log onto the router settings at the bottom of the router through the page 192.168.0.1 then go to wireless then wireless settings. At the bottom it has two tabs that have channel optimization next to it.

Click disable and then in 2g at the top where it has channel width select 20/40 and on the 5g select 20/40/80. Then update your settings by applying changes.

Give this a go.

Re: Dropping Connection

Thanks

I've made the wifi changes. also run a wifi diagnostic upstairs and noticed the neighbors were quite hot on channel 6 so moved to channel 8.  this will hopefully improve the wifi signal.

but for the gaming connection. That's a wired Ethernet connection to the modem/router. I got dropped a few times in games last night. My son this morning (not playing anything right now). Will keep an eye on that.

But the dbmV measurements...are those correct? Is the downstream channel voltage not an issue?
