Download Speed ok but Upload is low or non-existent at times

The issue started around the end of the last week, the download speed is fine between 150 mbps to 200 mbps, the upload speed is 2-3 mbps instead of the usual 20 mbps.

Tried different speed tests, all say the same.
Tried to reset/restart the router also made sure any cables are properly connected, nothing improved.

Was not able to reach anyone from virgin via phone or chat...

Ran tests of both wifi and ethernet pc and they say the same.

Running the test from my logged virgin media account give and error  but when checking my postcode for any issues it says everything is good.

What am I supposed to do about that? I never changed anything and this is what it shows after a reset.

 

UPDATE at the moment of writing this my upload speed is 0.4 mbps, lowest ever

It will require help from the VM staff on here, or even an engineer visit.

They should respond in the next few days, however don't bump your thread as it will go to the bottom of the queue!

Hi jordand77,

 

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community. My apologies for the broadband issues. I have checked the system today and there is an area fault causing this. The fault is SNR (signal to noise ratio) and the fault reference is F008204790. The estimated fix date is July 14th 2020.

Thank you John, I would like to mention that on Friday evening and Saturday 11th of July the upload speed worked fine, however as from today is back to low speeds.... will be waiting until 14th of July then.

This is happening again... unbelievable, the speeds were ok for the past 2 weeks and now it started again? 

What else is going on now?

This is happening to me too. It was fine up until yesterday.

It's sickening because Speedtest shows things are okay but real world tests with Wetransfer and streaming give me less than 20% of the advertised rate.

Exactly same stuff, speedtest is unreliable this morning it was like 6mbps now it's 3mbps, it's getting worse and worse, impossible to do any kind of upload...
