Different broadband speed on computer vs mobile

Just had 100m broadband speed installed, when I use the speed test that Virgin recommended on my phone speed looks perfect, however when I go to my computer and do the same thing its much lower despite the router sitting next to the computer. Have tried call virgin customer service but after being on the phone for 45mins, twice in a week with no answer i give up.

Re: Different broadband speed on computer vs mobile

Connect an ethernet cable to the Hub & PC and test again at speedtest.net.

Re: Different broadband speed on computer vs mobile

Thanks much better speed. But I don't really want to plug with an ether cable. Defeat the object of wireless if you get my meaning, any ideas as to why this would happen and what I can do?

Re: Different broadband speed on computer vs mobile

What types of wireless card is in the PC?

There are so many standards you can't really compare one device to another.

If the PC is adjacent to the Hub a cable connection is the fastest, most stable and less prone to interreference than the best Wi-Fi in the world.
