DNS Resolution

I am a new Virgin Media customer and I am NOT impressed by the blinding speed.

Speed is great after name resolution but the initial name resolution takes a very perceptible time. Ordinarily I would experiment with different DNS servers But, this is not an available option on the Hub 3.0

\do I need to upgrade the Hub 3.0 or is there another way to improve my DNS name resolution.

Re: DNS Resolution

Thanks Carl,

Unfortunately, my device (my laptop) is set to get these settings from DHCP. The Hub 3.0 is the DHCP server and I can't set DNS Servers on here.

I could set my IP address and DNS manually. But I would have to also set my office desktop manually. This leaves our various tablets without automati settings

Re: DNS Resolution

Followed by "but I shouldn't have too".

So you need to get your own router to set DNS.

Re: DNS Resolution

Hey Carl,

You are one cool dude. Thank you so much. Truth be told I knew that but, I am an old spoonie and I forget a lot of stuff.
